Policy Development
In addition to life saving operations, districts and departments are required to have written policies such as LOTO, Hazard Communications, Blood Borne Pathogens, Communicable Illnesses, PPE and Respiratory Protection just to name a few. Let our highly experienced team assist you in the development and completion of these necessary policies and procedures.
Respiratory Fit Testing
Qualitative (QLFT)
We provide on-site QLFT fit testing by a trained technician using the Hood Test Assembly Kit with either the Bitrex testing solution or the Saccharin testing solution. All testing is conducted with strict adherence to the OSHA 1910.134 Standard and Appendix A. Each person tested shall have a review of donning/doffing/care/maintenance and storage of that specific respirator. Prior to performing the fit test, a user seal check is conducted.
A QLFT fit test relies on the test recipient’s ability to taste and will compliantly validate whether a proper seal has been achieved.
A respirator that passes a fit test must be the the same make/model and size used during all work activities.
Respiratory Fit Testing
Quantitative (QNFT)
We provide on-site QNFT fit testing by a trained technician using a TSI Portacount Instrument. This testing is conducted with strict adherence to the OSHA 1910.134 Standard and Appendix A. Each person tested shall have a review of donning/doffing/care/maintenance and storage of that specific respirator. Prior to performing the fit test, a user seal check is conducted.
A QNFT fit test uses instrumentation that measures the microscopic particles inside and outside a respirator. The computer calculates the ratio of the two to produce a fit factor compliant with the OSHA standard. The test will certify the make/model and size of a respirator for wearer's annual use. A respirator that passes a fit test must be the the same make/model and size used during all work activities.
